ELTON ALEXANDER TO HOST TOWN HALL MEETING 6/20/19

Stockbridge Councilman Elton Alexander
To Host
Town Hall Meeting

STOCKBRIDGE, GEORGIA- June 18, 2019--- Stockbridge Councilman Elton Alexander will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 7 pm at Winslow at Eagles Landing Club House located at 900 Maple Leaf Drive in McDonough, Georgia. The meeting is free and open to the public. Councilman Alexander welcomes all community members to attend the interactive town hall meeting. This community meeting will highlight Councilman Alexander's safety concerns for the new Campground Road Extension Project.

"Please join us  for a community discussion on safety concerns involving the Campground Road Extension or Campground/Jodeco Connector with opening of the roadway imminent," said Stockbridge Councilman Elton Alexander. "The roadway is scheduled to be opened with no sidewalks, no lighting or no bike lanes compromising pedestrian safety. Both Henry County and the City of Stockbridge require all new roads be constructed with sidewalks but those requirements are being ignored on this major highway project. Stockbridge communities like Winslow at Eagles Landing, the Magnolias, the Summit and the Terrace border the project. Several unincorporated Henry County communities like the Vineyards and Wilshire Park will border the project as well. Numerous other communities will be impacted. No new roads should be built under these sub standard guidelines in 2019 compromising pedestrian safety with 3 schools in the area. Our discussion will center around ways to improve the project based on your feedback and desire for walkability and improved safety measures like lighting."
