STOCKBRIDGE ENCOURAGES EARLY VOTING BEGINNING OCTOBER 14 - NOVEMBER 1, 2019
 


Stockbridge Encourages Early Voting Location 

Stockbridge, Georgia- October 4, 2019--- The City of Stockbridge is encouraging early voting from Monday, October 14, 2019 to Friday, November 1, 2019  at the Stockbridge Municipal Court located at 4602 North Henry Boulevard in Stockbridge, Georgia and at the Henry County Elections Office at 40 Atlanta Street in McDonough, Georgia. 

Starting on October 14, 2019, the City of Stockbridge voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for three City Council seats, the Brunch Bill Referendum and the County SPLOST V Referendum. All seats are at-large with a four-year term. Candidates for City Council are listed below.

-Jacqueline Blalock

-John Blount (Incumbent)

-Arthur Christian

-Cherice Hollis

-Kenneth McFarland

-Neat Robinson (Incumbent) 



City of Stockbridge residents can also decide if they would like to roll back Sunday on-premise consumption sales hours from 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. The City of Stockbridge already has Sunday sales and will have a ballot referendum to make the proposed change. Voters are encouraged to vote early in one location for the municipal election candidates, the Brunch Bill Referendum and the county SPLOST V Referendum. If voters choose to vote on November 5th, Election Day, they will cast their ballots at the municipal election polling location and travel to their county election polling location to vote on the SPLOST V Referendum.


"Early voting is available starting in mid October and I encourage eligible voters to take advantage of the early voting period ahead of the November 5th election, " said Stockbridge Election Superintendent and City Clerk Vanessa Holiday. "Voting is an important American right and we welcome all community members to take part in the election process."

If you are a registered Henry County voter  who resides in Hampton, Locust Grove, McDonough, Stockbridge or Unincorporated Henry County, you can vote at the Stockbridge or Election Office polling locations to cast your ballot for any of these elections,
AND cast a County ballot.   ONE LOCATION!

MON—FRI October 14—October 18 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.

MON—FRI October 21—October 25 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.

ELECTION DAY VOTING TAKES PLACE AT YOUR REGULAR COUNTY POLLING  LOCATION FOR THE COUNTY BALLOT AND YOUR CITY POLLING LOCATION FOR    THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION BALLOT

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2019  7:00 A.M.—7:00 P.M.

It is important to note that several polling locations have changed recently. Eligible voters should check registration status and view additional voting information online at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov or by contacting the Henry County Elections Office at 770-288-6448. Any eligible voter may request and vote by absentee ballot without specifying a reason for their absence from the polling place on Election Day. Applications for absentee by-mail ballots must be made in writing. A request can be made up to 180 days prior to any election. Absentee ballots may be requested by-mail ballot application or you may write a letter to apply for an absentee by-mail ballot. The letter must contain sufficient information; please visit  the County’s website for details at  http://www.co.henry.ga.us/Departments/D-L/Elections-Registration. The Henry County Board of Elections is located at 40 Atlanta Street in McDonough, Georgia.
